November has snuck up on me. What happened to October? Oh well, there are still lots of Fall left to enjoy. It's only the second day of no daylight savings time, but I am in love. I love that it is getting dark earlier. I am sitting in my pajamas sipping Snow Flake Cocoa and it's only 7:31pm. That never happens during daylight savings. While I'm on the subject, here's the recipe for Snow Flake Cocoa:
Ingredients
2 cups whipping cream
6 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (12 ounce) package white chocolate chips
Garnish:
Whipped cream
Candy canes
Directions:
Stir together the whipping cream, milk, vanilla, and white chocolate chips in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, until mixture is hot and chocolate chips are melted. Stir again before serving. Garnish with whipped cream and candy canes, as desired.
It is sooooo good.
Now that you are drooling and I have your attention, I wanted to share something that I learned. Persimmons predict the winter weather. No joke. Inside the persimmon seed, there will be a shape. It will be either a knife, a spoon or a fork. A knife indicates that it will be cutting cold. A spoon tells you that it's going to be a heavy winter. It represents a shovel as in there will be a lot of snow shoveling. A fork means that the winter will be easy will possibly only a light dusting of snow. So what did the persimmon seed say?
A spoon people! We are going to have snow! Yay! I hope it's accurate. My persimmon seed isn't the only one showing a spoon. I've had several people tell me that theirs had the spoon. Also, there's a few news articles floating around the web stating that their seeds had spoons. I've never been so happy to see a spoon.
